ASTORE: Gilgit-Baltistan Minister for Information, Iqbal Hassan has said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was the message of progress and prosperity and will not only change the history of Pakistan and Gilgit-Baltistan but the whole South Asia.
Talking to local media men here Friday the Information Minister said foreign lobbies and elements were involved behind the recent wave of terrorism in a bid to make fail the CPEC project, the game changer of the region. We have to rise to the occasion to foil such conspiracies against CPEC by demonstrating unity and cohesion in our ranks and files.
CPEC, he said was a message of development and prosperity that enhanced the geo-strategic importance and responsibilities of Northern Areas.
He said credit for raising three districts at a time in northern areas goes to the PMLN government adding that the Prime Minister not only announced the creation of three new districts in northern areas but also implemented it in letter and spirit.
He maintained that Gilgit-Baltistan could not be declared as separate province had it five districts.
Therefore, the government increased the number of districts to ten to make it a separate province.
He said the people of northern areas supported separate province and enacted proper legislation from the provincial legislation.
He expressed the hope that Gilgit-Baltistan would soon become a model province of Pakistan.
The Information Minister said that we are deadly against corruption and it was our mission to make Gilgit-Baltistan government corruption free.
