Shahid Afridi and his list of world records

imagePakistan all rounder Shahid Khan Afridi, announced his retirement from international cricket, doing so closed the doors to one of the most illustrious careers, the cricketing world has ever seen.

Here are some of the records set by one of Pakistans most enigmatic cricketers ever.

-Youngest century maker

Shahid Afridi knocked the cricketing doors with a bang, after he reached the three digit figure, at only 16yr 217days of age against Sri Lanka.

Afridi scored his first century in Test cricket at the age of 18 yr 333 days against India, becoming the seventh youngest batsmen to achieve the feet.

-Fastest Century

The fast and furious Shahid Afridi, smashed his first ever century against Srilanka, facing just 37 balls. The record of the fastest ODIs century stood for more than 16 years, before it was broken by New Zealands CJ Anderson who scored a hundred playing just 36 balls.

image-Most Sixes in ODI

Shahid Afridi is not called Boom Boom for nothing, as he holds the record of hitting most number of sixes in ODIs. Afridi has smashed 351 sixes in his ODI career, 81 sixes more than he second on the list Sanath Jayasuriya.

-Most Man of the Match Awards for Pakistan

Shahid Afridi has won the man of the match award some 32 times in his career, the most by any Pakistani player. Saeed Anwar is second on the list with 28 Man of the Match Awards.

-Top Wicket Taker

Afridi has taken 395 wickets in his 20 years of ODI career, Lala is placed fifth on the all time wicket taker list. He is third highest wicket taker for Pakistan after the two Ws Wasim and Waqar.

image-Only player to take over 350 wicket and scored 8,000 runs.

A genuine all rounder with more than 8,000 Runs and 395 Wickets in ODIs, Shahid Afridi remains the only player in the history to achieve this feat.
