Cricketing stars Chris Gayle, Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawerdene, have refused to visit Pakistan for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final at Lahore citing the countrys volatile security conditions, on Monday.
As per media reports, the trio playing for the Karachi Kings have refused to visit Pakistan for the final while Peshawar Zalmi captain Darren Sammy and bowler Chris Jordan are ready to come to Pakistan. As many as 50 players are ready to visit Pakistan for the final of PSL II.
Furthermore, an additional amount of $10,000 to $50,000 will be paid to international players who are ready to tour Pakistan.
Previously, a meeting was held between PSL management and franchise owners, to decide the PSL final in Lahore. It was decided that the final of the PSL will be held in Lahore, whether or not international players agree to play or not.
"It has been heart-warming to see the dedication of all the owners to the cause of taking cricket back home and there is a realisation that this final will be the first step in opening the gates to international teams starting to make the journey again," said Sethi while speaking of the meeting.
"We are all committed to this mission and wish to have a thoroughly entertaining final where it should happen - in Lahore," he added.
