LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reaffirmed that the final of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2017 will be held in Lahore.
Talking to media on Wednesday, PCB Chairman Shahryar Khan stated the board has informed the government that it would be arranging the PSL final in Lahore. We have told the government we are organising the final in Lahore, Shahryar said.
The cricket chief than thanked the Pakistans Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa for lending his support to the t20 tournament. We have thanked the army chief for his support and have talked to him and held important talks. I am confident that we will hold the final in Lahore, he said.
Shahryar further reiterated his resolve to fight terrorism. We will not bow down to terrorism, he said.
Informing about the spot fixing suspects Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif, Shahryar said that the suspended batsmen will face harshest of punishments if their alleged involvement is proven.
Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif, both playing for Islamabad United, were suspended by the PCB and PSL authorities on Friday, for their alleged involvement in spot fixing during the ongoing T20 tournament. Both batsmen have been sent back to Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the seventh match of PSL would be held today, after a two day break between the Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators at Sharjah.
