The Pakistan Super League (PSL) corruption scandal is the latest in the list of corruption scandals that has rocked the game of cricket.
On Friday, Khalid Latif and Sharjeel Khan, both playing for Islamabad United, were suspended by Pakistan Cricket Boards (PCB) anti-corruption unit as the two were allegedly involved in spot-fixing.
Khalid Latif, one of the accused has claimed that he is innocent. As God is my witness, I am innocent and I have not done anything wrong, said Khalid Latif, while answering to media queries.
Previously, Sharjeel Khans father Sohail Khan came out in defence of his son.
Addressing the media on Saturday, Sharjeels father said that his son might have met someone unsuspectingly during the ongoing Pakistan Super League. However, "he did nothing wrong," Sohail added.
Sharjeels father further expressed optimism that his son would soon get cleared of the allegations.
"I am hopeful that he will be cleared of these allegations," said Sohail.
