The management of Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Tuesday decided to provide state-guest level security to all the foreign players, for the upcoming PSL final to be held in Lahore.
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) officials held a meeting at Dubai today, to brief the overseas players on security arrangement for the tournaments final, scheduled to be held in Lahore later in March.
PSL chairman Najam Sethi addressed the officials and the international players about the security situation in Pakistan, and in particular Lahore.
As per the PSL officials, PCB has assured foreign players that they will be provided state guest-level security, reported Dawn.
Earlier, the PSL chairman confirmed that PSL final would be held at Lahore. "I want to reiterate on this occasion that the final of the PSL will be in Lahore. Let there be no confusion about that," Sethi said.
On the other hand, Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi had also informed that all Zalmi players have agreed to play in Lahore, if the team makes into the final of the tournament.
"It is good news that all Zalmi players have given their consent to the team management that they are ready to play in Lahore," he said while talking to the media.
Last month, the Federation of International Cricketers' Associations (FICA) issued a report warning foreign players that an "acceptable level of participant security and safety cannot be expected or guaranteed" in Pakistan.
