KARACHI: Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) 100 index closed higher on Wednesday having 49455.86 points with a positive change of 698.19 and volume of 180,487,400 shares.

High and Low were 49514.10 and 48757.67, respectively. Total volume traded in the market was 356,136,400shares with 397 total traded companies out of which 284 were up 96 were down and 17 were unchanged.

POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION was the top traded sector with total traded volume of 81,767,700 shares. It was followed by ENGINEERING with a total traded volume of 44,791,200 shares.

The three top traded companies were Dost Steels Ltd.. with a volume of 19,251,500 and price per share of 14.13 (1.00), Aisha Steel Mill. with a volume 18,661,000 of price per share of 23.64 (1.07), Lotte Chemical... with a volume 17,920,500 of price per share of 9.55 (0.41).

The top three advancers were Wyeth Pak Ltd with price per share 4311.00 (205.00), Rafhan Maize. with price per share of 7637.00 (136.97) and Colgate Palmolive.. share of 1805.00 (75.00).

The top three decliners were Sanofi-Aventis with price per share of 2331.50 (-48.50), Siemens Pak.XD with price per share of 938.93 (-39.64) and Ferozsons (Lab) share of 644.24 (-33.57).
