KARACHI: Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) 100 index closed lower on Tuesday having 48757.67 points with a negative change of 214.57 and volume of 162,092,460 shares.

High and Low were 49142.77 and 48349.36 respectively. Total volume traded in the market was 316,857,450shares with 385 total traded companies out of which 133 were up 242 were down and 10 were unchanged.

POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION was the top traded sector with total traded volume of 59,333,400 shares. It was followed by COMMERCIAL BANKS with a total traded volume of 39,929,100 shares.

The three top traded companies were K-Electric Ltd.. with a volume of 32,904,500 and price per share of 10.40 (0.15), Lotte Chemical. with a volume 11,272,500 of price per share of 9.14 (0.08), Silk Bank Ltd... with a volume 5,869,000 of price per share of 1.79 (0.03).

The top three advancers were Pak Tobacco with price per share 1214.18 (53.93), Millat Tractors. with price per share of 1087.08 (51.76) and Thal Ind.Corp.XD.. share of 582.00 (27.02).

The top three decliners were Rafhan Maize with price per share of 7500.03 (-299.97), Wyeth Pak Ltd with price per share of 4106.00 (-158.63) and Sanofi-Aventis share of 2380.00 (-110.67).
