Sale of imported, commercial cars increases by 5pc

imageISLAMABAD: An increase of five percent has been recorded in the sale of old and light commercial cars that were imported in last three years.

According to a private news channel, in 2013, the ratio of imported used vehicles was 14 percent to the local made cars which increased to 19 percent in 2016.

A report given by Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts and Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM), 46,500 used cars were imported in 2016 whereas local manufacturers produced 2,03,500 cars.

43,400 used cars were imported in 2015 and local industry produced 2,47,500 cars including 50,000 vehicles of Punjab government's Apna Rozgar Scheme.
