KARACHI: Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) 100 index closed higher on Monday having 49896.10 points with a positive change of 531.27 and volume of 349,132,130 shares.

High and Low were 49937.25 and 49364.83respectively. Total volume traded in the market was 600,370,600shares with 414 total traded companies out of which 260 were up 130 were down and 24 were unchanged.

POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION was the top traded sector with total traded volume of 245,889,100 shares. It was followed by CHEMICAL with a total traded volume of 44,329,100 shares.

The three top traded companies were K-Electric Ltd. with a volume of 213,739,000 and price per share of 10.18 (0.62), Lotte Chemical with a volume 27,248,000of price per share of 9.10 (0.33), Japan Power with a volume 25,953,500 of price per share of 7.05 (0.83).

The top three advancers were Sapphire Tex. with price per share 1291.50 (61.50), ICI Pakistan with price per share of 1218.27 (58.01) and Service Ind.Ltd share of 1560.00 (56.09).

The top three decliners were Wyeth Pak Ltd with price per share of 4585.00 (154.99), Sanofi-Aventis with price per share of 2582.25 (55.96) and Island Textile share of 1220.00 (39.99).
