Did Khawaja just introduce dab in world cricket?

Australian batsmen were at their merciless peak against the toothless Pakistan bowling attack on the fourth day at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), which was visible not only from their scoring rate of well above seven per over, but by their celebrations.

Such was the domination of the Aussies batting line that opener Usman Khawaja dabbed after reaching his half-century, the figure he achieved while hitting consecutive sixes off Pakistan leg spinner Yasir Shah.

"There it is," said commentator Waqar Younis, reported news.com.au. "I dont know what it is but Ive seen my son doing it."

Dabbing is a trend that has taken over social media and the world of sports as well, this time it was introduced in the world of Test cricket by the Australian batsman.

The dab gained popularity in sports following an eight-second celebratory dab by Cam Newton, football quarterback for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League, during a game against the Tennessee Titans, back in late 2015.

The Australians blasted through the second innings on back of a 23 ball fifty by David Warner, second fastest in test cricket, which was equally supported by Khwaja who reached his fifty off just 77 balls. Australian captain Steve Smith too hit another half century in just 40 balls, taking his side lead to a mammoth 464 runs.
