Twenty-seven villages have been electrified while the work in 15 others is in progress in the Chiniot Tehsil, said Faisalabad Electric Supply Corporation (Fesco) Assistant Manager Pir M Khatran Baloch. He said that 42 schemes were approved in the prime minister's grant of Rs 20 million, given to MNA Tahir Shah for the year 2005-6.
He further said that five schemes were funded through the DOP funds of Wapda, while another 10 had been completed from the Khushhal Pakistan Programme. "Nine villages have been electrified at a cost of Rs 6.5 million from the Punjab government grant, while another has been completed in the same constituency with a grant of Rs 1.1 million by Senator Sajjad Bokhari," he added. He said that the remaining schemes would be completed in the coming months.
