KARACHI: Karachi University organized a seminar in order to facilitate students and staff in availing the Erasmus Mundus Europe Asia (EMEA) fully funded scholarship to Europe.
A University official said on Friday that the main objective of a seminar was to clarify the process of sending application for the scholarship.
Prof. Dr Shahana Urooj Kazmi, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Coordinator KU-EMEA, briefly addressed the seminar which was attended by more than 400 students, teachers and administrative staff members.
She said that Erasmus Mundus Europe Asia (EMEA) is the fully funded scholarship programme designed to fund mobility for undergraduate, master, doctoral and post doctoral level as well as for university staff in academic or administrative position to study and carry out research in European Union participating Universities in Italy, Poland , UK, Ireland , Greece, France, Sweden, the Netherlands.
Explaining the distribution of scholarship, Dr. Shahana said that maximum number of scholarships is available for target group 1 for students and staff enrolled in Karachi University. She introduced Adil Shakeel as a new member in EMEA (Pakistan) coordinating team. Dr. Shahana said that application submission website which opened on October 15 will close on December 1.
Assistant Project Coordinator, KU-EMEA Pakistan, Ms. Mariya Khan and Adil Shakeel, EMEA Scholar 2011, who recently returned from Poland after completing his training, gave a detailed presentation through online EMEA Website.
They emphasized that all applicants should visit the website to know more about mobility and target groups, eligibility and ineligibility, selection for European host University and degree or training programs, fields of study, scholarship rates and duration in different target groups.
Adil Shakeel clarified the process of acquiring visa, health insurance, accommodation and steps in sending online application along with required documents.
