A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has recently been signed between Javed Wadood, Country General Manager, Cybernet and Shehzad Roy, President, Zindagi Trust for 'Internet Connectivity Partnership'.
With this agreement, Cybernet has agreed to provide Zindagi Trust with free DSL connections for all their offices across the country.
"With Zindagi Trust aiming to educate more than 100,000 working children across Pakistan, we are consistently looking for strategic alliances with socially responsible organisations such as Cybernet, which contribute in making our ambitious goal a possible reality," Shehzad Roy remarked on the occasion.
Commending Zindagi Trust on its initiative to change the lives of underprivileged in Pakistan, Wadood said that being a good corporate citizen, Cybernet was making every effort to contribute to the community and support projects like Zindagi Trust who were making a difference in the society.
Zindagi Trust is working to eliminate the menace of child labour from the society by providing education and healthcare facilities to underprivileged children.
The Trust extends help to the underprivileged children of Pakistan with the revolutionary "I'm-paid-to-learn" program, which is geared towards removing the epidemic of illiteracy.
Children who forgo schooling to earn money doing menial tasks in urban areas are given the incentive of a fixed stipend of Rs 20 per day, if they attend any one of the 25 Zindagi schools around Pakistan.
Cybernet, the largest Internet and Data Communication Network Service Provider in Pakistan since its inception has helped launch Pakistan on the technology threshold and connecting it to the world.-PR
