Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has announced the names of candidates of Khushal Pakistan Panel (KPP) and its allies Faqir Dost Panel (FDP) and Peoples Party Patriots (PPP) for the posts of district and taluka Nazims in the third phase of local bodies (LBs) polls.
Sindh CM in a meeting with these groups at CM House on Saturday discussed the proposed names.
According to the announcement, for District Badin Anwar Halipoto will be consensus candidate of KPP and FDP for district Nazim and in talukas of district Badin, Mansoor Ali Nizamani will be candidate for Matli, Aslam Rahoo for Shaheed Fazil Rahoo (Golarchi), Haider Shah for Tando Bago. Names for Badin and Talhar Talukas will be announced later.
For District Noushero Feroze, Aqib Khan will be consensus candidate for district Nazim from KPP and PPP. In Taluka Moro, Noor Korejo will be candidate for Taluka Nazim, for Noushero Feroze, the candidate for Nazim Taluka is Mohmmad Samijo, for Taluka Bhiria, Sohail Abbasi is candidate for Nazim, for Mehrabpur Nazim, Ibrar Shah is candidate. Name of candidate for Kanyaro will be announced later.
In District Thatta, Shafqat Shah Sherazi is consensus candidate for district Nazim post from KPP. For Taluka Thatta, Dil Mohammad Memon for Nazim, for Mirpur Sakro, Abdul Ghani Gaghyar, for Ghorabara, Nazim Ahmed Kehr for Nazim, for Taluka Sajawal, Ghulam Akram Shah Sherazi, for Taluka Mirpur Batero, Arbab Rameezuddin Memon and for Taluka Shahbandar, Shaukat Ali Malkani for Nazim, are the candidates.
For District Dadu, Karim Ali Jatoi will be candidate for district Nazim whereas in Taluka Mehar, Anila Jatoi will be candidate for Nazim and Dhani Bux Jatoi for Nazim in Khairpur Nathan Shah.
For district Nazim Umar Kot, Magan Mangrio will be candidate whereas Khalid Siraj Soomro will be candidate for Nazim for Umar Kot Taluka, Zaulfiqar Khaskhaili for Somaro Taluka and Mohmmad Umar Mangrio will be candidate for Nazim in Takuka Pitharo.
For Nawabshah and Sukkur districts, names of Khan Mohammad Dahari and Nasir Hussain Shah have been announced for candidate for Nazim seats. For Khairpur district, Niaz Hussain Shah of FDP has been supported.
Arbab said that discussion were underway for City Nazim Karachi and others. "Our central leaders, Shujaat Hussain, and Mushahid Hussain are holding negotiations in this respect," he added.
He said that no work has been done in matters pertaining to Karachi so far. In Karachi, MQM enjoys majority and as such it should have a free hand. "I would consider the Karachi matters after performing Umra," he added.
The meeting was attended by Saddaruddin Shah Rashdi, Mohammad Ismail Rahoo, Ali Akbar Nizamani, Ijaz Shah Sherazi, Anwar Halipoto and others.
