ISLAMABAD: The Iranian government has announced to spend US $ 80 million on construction of houses in flood hit areas of Sindh.
Spokesman of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Irshad Bhatti Friday told APP here that an Iranian delegation headed by Managing Director of an Iranian Housing Society have reached Pakistan to have a first hand knowledge about the plight of flood hit people of Sindh.
Iran will also help vaccinating 5 million animals in flood hit areas of Sindh to prevent from diseases, he said.
About 2.1 million people have already been provided medical facilities in various medical camps established in the flood hit areas, he said.
Engineers of Pakistan Army have started an operation in 23 districts of Sindh to improve drainage system, widen and remove silt from canals of the province, he said.
