ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani Thursday urged United Nations to provide early warning system to Pakistan to save the people from natural disasters.
Talking to visiting Special Representative of UN Secretary General Ms Margretta Walstorm, he also asked UN to extend full cooperation to Pakistan to save lives of victims in rain affected areas.
Ms Walstorm assured full support of UN in rehabilitation of rain affected people in Sindh and Balochistan provinces. She promised to provide early warning system to minimize human losses in natural disasters. She said she will meet Parliamentary Committee members on floods to get latest update on rain affected areas so that comprehensive strategy be devised for their early and complete rehabilitation.
