ISLAMABAD: Keeping aside the reconciliation policy, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has openly come up to show its power in the federal capital.
The PML-N led an opposition rally and sit-in outside President House, describing President Asif Ali Zardari as ‘mother of all the problems’ facing Pakistan.
PML-N’s Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan led the joint opposition rally attended by lawmakers of Jamat-e-Islami, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl Ur Rehman (JUI-F), Like-Minded group the PML-Q, PPP Sherpao group and score of independent candidates.
Senators and MNAs from FATA also joined the protest march.
They walked out from session of the lower house and marched towards the Presidency and staged sit-in.
Carrying play cards and banners, the parliamentarians chanted anti-government slogans and demanded end to load-shedding, inflation, worst law and other situation in the county, especially in Balochistan, and other public issues.
The lawmaker hit out at the ruling clique for its failure to plug up the crisis.
Heavy police contingents were deployed near the President House.
The opposition party’s decision came after ruling PPP’s patch up with Pakistan Muslim League Quaid-e-Azam and Muttahida Qaumi Movement.
Blocking all the roads leading to the Presidency, police have placed barbed wires on all entry and exit points.
The key opposition party holds the PPP-led government responsible for poor law and order, rampant load-shedding, inflation and nepotism.
Earlier in the NA session, MNAs from treasury and opposition benches exchanged harsh words, prompting the Deputy Speaker, Faisal Kareem Kundi to intervene.
