Steve Jobs 'changed the world': Medvedev

MOSCOW: Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Thursday mourned the passing of Apple founder Steve Jobs, calling him a man who changed the world.

"People like Steve Jobs change our world," the Russian president wrote on his official Twitter blog. "My sincere condolences to the family and all who valued his intelligence and talent."

Medvedev has long admired Jobs and even quoted him in his speeches. He is an avid Apple fan who is often seen with an iPad at government meetings and news conferences.

He and Jobs met in Apple headquarters in California's Silicon Valley during Medvedev's June 2010 state visit to the United States, where Jobs presented the Russian leader with a new iPhone.
