Sialkot district government has earmarked Rs 5 million during current fiscal year for its village electrification programme and under this programme far-off and ignored villages would be provided the basic facility of electricity in the district.Official sources told Business Recorder here on Tuesday that as many as 30 villages and additional abodes of Sialkot, Daska and Pasrur tehsils had been provided the facility of electricity during 2003-2004 at cost of more than Rs 96.61 lakh.
The district government Sialkot has adopted solid measures for ensuring the basic facility of electricity to the masses living in downtrodden and way off areas of the district on top priority basis.
Apart from this, the district government was actively considering to establish small-scale agro-based industries in rural parts aimed at bringing down the unemployment graph as well as edging out the chances of rural migration towards city.
Under this programme efforts would be made for providing job opportunities to the skilled and trained jobless persons in their respective areas, sources added.
