The NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani has said that in the next fiscal year more than 60,000 new posts will be created in education, health, police, FC and agriculture departments.
The new posts will not only alleviate poverty but will also improve services delivery system, he added.
He expressed these views at well-attended public gathering after distribution of Achai cows and inauguration of Semen Production Unit at Dairy Farm Harichand, Charsadda District on Saturday.
Provincial Agriculture and Livestock Minister Qari Mehmood, Senator Khalid Jan, MNAs Maulana Gohar Shah, Maulana Muhammad Sabir, MPAs Maulana Idrees, Maulana Musammar Shah, Shams-ur-Rahman Shamsi, secretary livestock Zebullah Khan, chairman of Rehman Foundation Dr Essa Khan and farmers at large number were also present on the occasion.
The Chief Minister on the occasion appreciated efforts of Rahman Foundation and Livestock department for motivating the farmers' community.
He also praised performance of the officials of the Dairy Farm and stressed that they should continue their efforts for poverty alleviation.
He said that the promotion of local livestock would not only increase production of milk, meat and will also resolve financial problems of the province.
Durrani stressed upon the officials of livestock department to concentrate on the increase in the production of milk and meat and chalk out a comprehensive policy for fighting against different diseases of livestock.
He said Punjab province is earning a handsome amount from this sector because they have concentrated their focus on research in livestock.
Durrani said that the present government is planning to import livestock and milk plant, which will increase our income. He appealed to the farmers' community to co-operate the livestock department and the government is committed to provide all possible facilities to them.
He also informed that in the next Annual Development Plan (ADP), the government has planned establishment of two plants for packing of milk.
He said that Frontier is rich in natural resources and referred to the precious minerals, raw material for cement manufacturing, large reserves of natural gas and potential for tourism.
He said the successive governments never tried to exploit these resources adding the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) government is committed to exploit these resources, which will usher a new era of development and prosperity of the province.
Referring to the development activities initiated by the MMA government, the Chief Minister said that a record number of schemes have been started in all the districts of the province and priority is given to backward districts.
A comprehensive policy has been worked out for road network in a province, he added.
He also announced repair and rehabilitation of Harichand road and said that after the month of July construction work will start on the road.
He said Rs 30 million has been allocated for provision of sui gas to Charsadda district.
Referring to poverty alleviation and job opportunities, the Chief Minister said that in the next ADP 20 thousand graduates would be employed to impart education to the illiterates.
The Chief Minister preferring to the on-going uplift projects in Charsadda district said that work on a number of projects is in full swing.
He also announced Rs 100,000 grant for Charsadda Press Club and donated 20 goats to the Dairy Farm.
Later, the Chief Minister formally inaugurated Semen Production Unit in the Dairy Farm and went round of various sections of the farm. During his visit to Charsadda district, he also inaugurated various developmental projects in different villages of the district.
He also inaugurated construction work on Government Girls High School at Haji Jamroz Khan Kali, which will cost Rs 4000,000, and construction of 12-km long Harichand Dadoo Kaley road will cost Rs 4700,000 and 83 thousand. The project will complete in June 2005.
