The campaign launched on the directive of Provincial Food and Agriculture Minister Arif Mustufa Jatoi, against the illegal check-posts established by market contractors for collecting market fee, has started yielding positive results.
So far, four persons have been taken into custody by the police running seizure posts on main roads of Tando Muhammad Khan while nine other check-posts in Thatta, Dadu, Sanghar and Hyderabad have also been demolished during the surprise raids conducted by Deputy Director, Marketing Operation.
The records seized during the raids on seizure posts indicates that the contractors were charging fee on items which are not mentioned in schedule and fee was being charged from growers on livestock.
The raids are in progress and more check-posts may be demolished.
