Karachi Water and Sewerage Board Co-ordinator to City Nazim, Faizanullah has directed the tax department of KWSB to accelerate its tax recovery campaign to meet the revenue target.
Chairing a meeting at water board office, he said that being a basic utility provider water board should improve its performance and take every possible step to serve the people better.
He also directed the concerned officials to make the KWSB's consumer centres more effective to provide instant solution to consumers' problems, like issuance of duplicate bills, etc.
Faizanullah further called for providing easy instalment facility to those consumers owing heavy outstanding for water charges.
He urged the officers to expedite recovery campaign and prepare a comprehensive plan for this purpose so that the department could easily carry out its development schemes.
He also announced a special award for the best performing town officers of KWSB, who would achieve their set target of revenue.
The Co-ordinator to City Nazim warned the officials that no more laxity would be tolerated in the matter of tax collection. He directed for the streamlining of bill issuance procedure and asked the officials to submit their recommendations for the improvement of the system.
DMD, KWSB, Syed Ikhlaq Hussain and other senior officials of water board were also present in the meeting.
