LG polls for MC Tando Adam on Thursday: PEC

imageSANGHAR: Local government elections for Municipal Committee Tando Adam and two union councils of taluka Tando Adam of district Sanghar would be conducted on February 25, said Provincial Election Commissioner (PEC) Sindh, Syed Tanveer Zaki.

Presiding over a meeting to finalise arrangements for the elections on remaining local bodies of Sanghar here on Tuesday, he said 218 polling booths at 72 polling stations have been set up for the polling to 23 wards of Municipal Committee Tando Adam and Union Council Harbari and UC Gajro.

Out of 72 polling stations 32 are declared highly sensitive, 30 sensitive and 10 were declared normal, he said, adding that 436 assistant presiding officers would perform election duties.

The PEC said that strict security arrangements have been planned through out the taluka for peaceful conduct of elections, and Rangers would also be deployed in the regard.

He also directed officials of all relevant departments to finalise necessary arrangements prior to the polling day.

The meeting was attended by regional election commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Sain Bukhsh Channar, Regional Election Commissioner Hyderabad Ajaz Anwar Chohan, District Election Commissioner Sanghar Abdur Rehman Aarain, Additional Commissioner-I Sanghar Zohaib Mushtaq, SSP Sanghar Farukh Lanjar and other officials.
