cdgkKARACHI: District Coordination Officer Karachi Muhammad Hussain Syed has said that special teams of City government had been deployed to drain out rain water by mobilizing all machineries and vehicles in an emergency rain operation.

He stated this while visiting command and control room of the City District Government Karachi on Saturday. He said administrators of all towns had been directed to ensure cleanliness and proper drainage of rain water.

He told that CDGK had imposed rain emergency for more than a month due to prediction of monsoon rains. In order to deal with any rain emergency situation, he said, 3,500 workers and 150 vehicles and machineries had been mobilized to prevent people facing any untoward situation.

DCO said emergency had also been imposed in CDGK-run hospitals, adding medical superintendents of those sanatoriums had been asked to remain on duty to ensure patients might not face any difficulty.

In addition, he said city wardens had also been deployed on various locations to assist marooned people in standing rain water. DCO said in case of more rains, emergency teams would remain active round the clock for taking necessary measures.
