With people becoming more health conscious, technology decided to keep tabs on their body needs and so came along the app called ‘Walgreens’. Everything is getting easy to access like hailing cab, downloading songs, finding closest restaurants and health sector is no different.
Walgreen enables its users to access medical care without hassle. Forbes reported that the app enables consumers to access medical care services via their smart phones for scheduling appointments, ordering prescriptions or talking to a doctor via a video consultation and that’s cheaper than a traditional physician office visit.
According to PWC Health Research Institute, “In 2016, millions of American consumers will have their first video consults, be prescribed their first health apps and use their smart phones as diagnostic tools for the first time. These new experiences will begin to make real the dream of care anywhere, anytime, changing consumer expectations and fueling innovation.”
Walgreen app, which was launched in 2009 by Walgreens Boot Alliance (WBA), refills one prescription every second through the consumers’ smart phones. According to a 2014 analysis of retailer apps, the Walgreens app is among the most downloaded, reaching as high as third behind Amazon and Groupon.
