european-stockLONDON: Europe's main stock markets slumped at the start of trading on Monday following heavy losses for indices across Asia.

London's FTSE 100 index of top shares dropped 1.43 percent to 5,216.52 points, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index slid 2.32 percent to 5,409.87 points and in Paris the CAC 40 shed 2.41 percent to 3,072.51.
