SYDNEY: Australian stocks slumped 2.38 percent Monday as cautious investors dumped equities following US employment data that showed the American economy created zero jobs in August.
At the close, the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 was down 100.9 points at 4,141.9.
The Australian dollar fell with the market and was down more than one US cent at 105.78 US cents late in the session, from its 106.94 close on Friday.
