imagePESHAWAR: Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Imran Khan Tuesday set free 10 seeker falcons worth millions of rupees here that were caught and being smuggled in a passenger van via Indus Highway.

Addressing a press conference here at Chief Minister House he lauded the efforts of Wildlife department in rescuing the precious and near to instinct birds from Pakistan and said that efforts are being made to preserve wildlife and environment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He said that the target of tsunami tree plantation campaign would be achieved as positive results have been achieved in this regard.

He said that two Changa Manga like forests are being maintained in district DI Khan to make the environment clear and green adding that he would soon visit the district and inaugurate the forests.

Earlier, an official of wildlife department told APP that a team of the department intercepted a passenger vehicle at Indus Highway and recovered eight seeker falcons from custody of a passenger.

Meanwhile, another team of Wildlife raided at a house in Peshawar city and recovered two more falcons that were kept illegally by the accused.
