SHANGHAI: Chinese shares fell 1.22 percent in early trade Monday amid concerns over further monetary tightening efforts from Beijing due to stubbornly high inflation, dealers said.
The Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, was down 31.97 points at 2,580.22.
