UAE Charity cooperation offers to help vulnerable segments of society
ISLAMABAD: Directorate of Special Education has offered a leading United Arab Emirate charity to surmount joint efforts for alleviating the sufferings of vulnerable segment of the Pakistani society.
This offer was made by Director General the Directorate of Special Education and Social Welfare and Development, S. M. Mustafain Kazmi at a concluding iftar dinner organized by UAE Red Crescent Authority for the handicapped children of the National Special Education Centre to break their fast with special dates here on last Friday.
More than 200 physically handicapped children, some accompanied by their parents attended the concluding iftar dinner.
Kazmi said his department was ready to cooperate with the institutions and organizations of the United Arab Emirates in an effort to help these vulnerable segments of society, partly to alleviate the suffering and meet some basic necessities of life particularly of special children, the most deserving.
He extended his thanks to the leaders and people of UAE for their continued humanitarian support to the people of Pakistan during the difficult times.
The UAE Red Crescent Authority has been hosting iftars for the disadvantaged children and occupants of the welfare homes and schools in a humble effort to help such children have decent iftar dinners. Such iftar dinners were organized in many cities across the country and were appreciated by representatives of the welfare institutions.
In their comments they have lauded the humanitarian gesture especially the Iftar programmes of the UAE Red Crescent Authority in Pakistan as it supported the deserving poor and needy families and were instrumental to bring happiness,comfort and brotherly feelings to them.
The principal of the centre Ms Ishrat Masood was also present at the concluding iftar dinner and exchanged views with members of the Red Crescent and the handicapped children on the occasion. Masood said these coordinated efforts would be effective to address the social problems of these people, he added.
