imageSWANSEA: Mauricio Pochettino lavished praise on Christian Eriksen after the Danish midfielder earned Tottenham a point at the Liberty Stadium with two sublime free kicks in a 2-2 draw.

Swansea led twice courtesy of Andre Ayew and a Harry Kane own goal, however, Eriksen found the target twice from dead-ball situations to help the visitors extend their unbeaten run in the Premier League to seven games.

"Sometimes he has a clear chance to score and he doesn't," said Pochettino. "But as you can see today (Sunday), he does have real quality when he shoots.

"He is a very professional player and he can play in many positions. I would say he is also one of the best players from a dead-ball situation."

Pochettino was disappointed that his side had not gone on to win the match, but was happy with the performance and the manner in which they had recovered after Thursday's Europa League Cup 1-1 draw at Monaco.

"I am disappointed with the result because maybe we have given up two points. However, I am not disappointed with the performance.

"There are a lot of theories about playing on a Thursday and then a Sunday, but if you know your squad you make the right decisions.

"This is our second season here and I know the players better now and I know who can play on a Thursday and then a Sunday.

"Sometimes it is difficult to play and recover in time for the next game but our medical staff are fantastic and I think that showed today.

"It's all about training hard and getting the right rest."

On the own goal from Kane, he added; "Own goals happen in football. I don't worry about that because Harry played well and he did a lot for the team."

Swansea manager Garry Monk said; "We are disappointed, we led twice and without conceding the free-kicks we would have won.

"Having said that, we were much better though. The players' passion to win was massive.

"We have had a couple of performances that were well below our standard and we needed to get back to it and we did. We have shown exactly how much we want to get back to the levels we have set before.

"It's about consistency and that was what we had last season. This season we have played fantastically well in a few games and not so well in a couple of others. We have to get that consistency now.

"We are a bit sick of the sight of Eriksen after he scored here last season, and of Lloris as well because he made an amazing save to deny us a point in the game up there last season."
