imageLARKANA: Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister Sharmila Farooqui along with Provincial Secretary Culture and Tourism Dr. Niaz Abbasi Monday visited the archaeological site of Moenjo-Daro.

The adviser directed that the ban imposed on visitors for two weeks to prevent any damage to the site in the wake of monsoon rains, should be extended.

She said that dry core drilling work to ascertain Moenjo-Daro's actual geographical area will start after two months owing to paddy crop in surrounding areas.

Earlier, Sharmila Farooqi accompanied by Secretary Tourism and Culture Dr Niaz Abbasi visited Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Memorial Library Larkana and reviewed the ongoing development schemes.

Talking to mediapersons, she said that the Culture and Tourism Department has recovered the land of Lakhen Jo Daro at Sukkur from land mafia. She further said that her department is establishing Ajrak Clubs in different cities of Sindh, besides work on museum.

On the occasion, Sharmila Farooqi inaugurated Shah Latif Art Gallery and Museum at Pakistan Arts Council Larkana, built at Rs. 53 million.

Meanwhile, she inspected construction work of ongoing scheme of museum/Ajrak Club at Sturt Gang area.

Commissioner Larkana Ghulam Akbar Leghari, Director Qasim Ali Qasim, Special Secretary Abdul Kari, Deputy Director Roshan Kanasiro, Deputy Director Shams Abbasi and others were present.
