imageWhile Salman Khan has gone all out and spoken his mind on the Yakub Memon hanging case, not everyone is happy with his opinions. While Indian BJP’s youth wing planned a protest over the tweets, outside Khan's Bandra residence, Mumbai BJP president, Ashish Shelar met Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao and asked him to cancel actor’s bail on Hit-n-Run case.

The police have said that they have deployed a platoon of SRI and few policemen on Salman Khan’s residence. “We have deployed security as a precautionary measure as we fear that some people who have raised objection to his tweets may try to react against the actor. We have also alerted the actor to be cautious,” said an officer, Times of India reported.

Salman had tweeted that Yakub Memon, who was convicted in 1993 Bombay blast, should not be hanged as the real culprit is the Yakub’s brother, Tiger Memon.

The tweets kicked off a row, forcing the actor to tweet an apology on Sunday evening. He tweeted, “My dad called & said I should retract my tweets as they have the potential to create misunderstanding. I hereby retract them”. He added, “I would like to unconditionally apologise for any misunderstanding I may have created unintentionally”.

Actor’s father Salim Khan also said on the issue, “Everyone has a right to freedom of expression; however, one should make a statement only if one is aware of the case. Those tweets shouldn't be taken seriously. Salman should focus on his films,” Indian media reported.
