ECP launches Rs 100mn media campaign
ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has launched an extensive campaign in print and electronic media for enhancing awareness about the importance of vote and persuading people to register themselves as a voter.
A senior official of ECP told APP here that a sum of Rs 100 million has reportedly been allocated for the media campaign.
In the media campaign, the ECP has urged the citizens of above 18 years, having Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) to cooperate with the ongoing door to door verification exercise and help preparing transparent electoral rolls.
The slogan of the campaign is Rule of Vote Future Secured. The ECP has also reminded that the CNIC is a prerequisite for registration of a vote.
The huge door to door verification exercise would continue till September 30.
Final voter lists would be published in March 2012. ECP has deputed 211000 verification officials to conduct the verification process.
