ISLAMABAD: Millions of faithful would observe Aitkaf in tens of thousands of mosques from Sunday night while security of the mosques has been beefed up in this connection.
Aitkaf is a Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) and carries a multitude of blessings of the Allah Almighty, a private news channel reported on Saturday.
Before sunset, million of devotees would observe Aitkaf in the mosques all over the country from the 20th of Ramazan. A large number of women, also, would observe the ritual in their houses. The devotees would offer prayers during the entire nights to seek blessing of Allah Almighty.
In view of the event, security has been tightened in all mosques situated in Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Hyderabad, Gujrat, Mardan, Kohat, Bahawalpur, Quetta, Karachi, and Multan.
