PESHAWAR: The capital city police on Saturday foiled bid of arms smuggling and apprehended two smugglers besides recovering weapons worth million of rupees from their possession.
Police on a tip-off about smuggling bid, received by Chief Capital City Police Imtiaz Altaf, conducted search operation in all entry and exits points of the city and intercepted a suspected vehicle on Jamrud Police Post.
During search, police recovered 3,020 cartridges of different bore, three Kalashnikovs, three repeaters, 30 rifles and five pistols from secrete cavities of the vehicle.
Police also arrested two alleged smugglers namely Abul Hasnain and Gul Rehman and registered case against them under the relevant section of the law.
