MIRPUR: Following the swift melting of snow in the top mountainous catchments, the water level in Mangla dam is rapidly increasing since last 24 hours.
Water level in dam reached upto 1202.10 feet against the dead level of 1140.00 feet on Saturday, WAPDA sources told APP here on Saturday.
The present live storage of water in the reservoir was recorded as 4.548 MAF on Saturday, they added.
The sources said the inflow of the Jhelum river in Mangla dam was recorded as 25500 cusecs and outflow of the river was recorded 13000 cusecs.
Since the Mangla dam has been raised by 30 feet, the authorities intend to raise the water level gradually under the phased program.
