CDGK begins payment of employees' salary
KARACHI: City District Government Karachi has made arrangements for payment of salaries to its staff and payment of salaries for the month of July has started.
This was stated by District Coordination Officer Karachi Mohammad Hussain Syed while talking to employees of defunct KDA in his office here on Thursday.
Earlier he met with the employees who were protesting over non- payment of their salaries.
The agitating employees during their meeting with the DCO apprised him about their agony due to non-payment of their salary.
DCO Mohammad Hussain Syed said that he was aware of their problems and that is why a loan from Building Control Authority was arranged for payment of salaries.
He said that the city government did not have the resources to pay salaries to its employees in time.
Muhammad Hussain Syed said we were trying to solve this problem.
The DCO Karachi further said that the Sindh Government releases Rs 327 million monthly to city government for payment of salaries of staff while a huge amount of Rs 705 million is required every month for the payment of salaries of city government employees.
He said so far we have received only Rs 100 million in the salaries head from Government and the remaining amount would also be paid soon.
Regarding release of funds for staff's uniforms, he said this would be done after payment of salaries.
The DCO Karachi also assured employees that he would talk on every level for payment of salaries on a timely basis and soon they would get good news in this regard.
