imagePakistan cricket board (PCB) fumes over Indian media for spreading false rumous about Indo-Pak series in India. The PCB issued a statement against Indian media who misquotes PCB chief Shahryar Khan saying that Pakistan will play their home series in India.

Previously, PCB chief Shahryar Khan has been quoted as saying by the Hindustan Times, “We would like to make India our home”. Pakistan’s elderly statesman also claims there are offers from other cricketing neighbours like Sri Lanka and Bangladesh but he would love to see Pakistan play their game in India. “India will be more cost-effective,” he said.

The PCB statement reads, “There is speculation in the Indian press suggesting that PCB is agreeable to touring India in December in lieu of the home series in UAE. PCB would like to clarify that PCB remains committed to the MOU signed with BCCI in which India has agreed to play the first Pak- India series in UAE this December”.

“The MOU specifically states that this series would be played in UAE or a mutually agreed venue. No alternative venue has been proposed by BCCI, nor has this issue been raised with Chairman Shaharyar M. Khan by Mr. Jagmohan Dalimiya, Chairman BCCI or by Mr. Anurag Thakur Secretary General during his recent discussions in India. PCB remains steadfast in expecting BCCI to abide by the MOU,” the statement further added.

Pakistan is expected to play a home series against India by the end of this December. Recently, International cricket revived in Pakistan as Zimbabwe team agreed to play a series in Pakistan’s home ground.
