LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said a high level committee has been constituted to probe Shadbagh tragedy and in the light of its report, stern action would be taken against the persons.
Presiding over a high level meeting through video link at Civil Secretariat on Thursdy, he is deeply grieved over the death of six children due to fire in Shadbagh.
The meeting reviewed performance of relief agencies in the wake of the tragic incident in Shadbagh. An uncle of the deceased children also participated in the meeting at Civil Secretariat.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said a station of Rescue-1122 will be set up in Shadbagh. He said that there was a dire need of overhaul of the entire system of fire brigade and the merger of fire brigade into Rescue-1122 should be considered.
He said that this tragic incident has also raised questions about the efficiency of Rescue-1122. He said that there was a need for special attention to the training and capacity-building of fire brigade staff.
