MOSCOW: The rouble opened broadly stronger on Friday, neglecting the steep fall in oil prices, Russia's main exports and a major driver behind the local currency's performance.
At 0705 GMT, the rouble was about 0.4 percent stronger against the dollar at 56.44 and gained 0.6 percent to trade at 62.32 versus the euro.
Brent oil fell nearly 4 percent on Thursday after a preliminary pact between Iran and global powers on Tehran's nuclear programme.
