seoul-exchangeSEOUL: South Korean shares rose 0.9 percent in morning trade on Friday after a Wall Street rally overnight. The market opened 1.47 percent higher, but the gains eased considerably after institutional investors and foreigners turned net sellers.

The benchmark KOSPI hovered around 1,834 points, up 0.9 percent around noon.
