switzerland-stock-marketZURICH: Swiss stocks opened 2.68 percent higher on Thursday with the Swiss Market Index rising across the board to 4,920.23 points, in line with gains on other European bourses.

The SMI had closed down 4.12 percent Wednesday, hit by concerns over the European banking sector and fears of a widening sovereign debt crisis.
