ISLAMABAD: The prices of chickens, its meat and mutton have registered a slight decrease in first 10 days of the Holy month of Ramadan.

According to a survey here on Wednesday, chicken being sold at Rs170 per kg in different markets, is now available at Rs160 per kg in the Federal Capital.

The prices of chickens witnessed an upward trend for the last few months but the prices came down with the start of Ramadan.

According to the market sources, apparently, the reduced prices were result of low demand owing to less consumption and a break in the marriage season in connection with Ramadan.

The mutton prices also reduced by the butchers in various markets as its price were reduced from Rs530 per kg to Rs495 per kg.
