Frankfurt stocks up 2.09pc at open

germanFRANKFURT: The Frankfurt DAX index of leading shares opened on Wednesday with a jump of 2.09 percent to 6,040.68 points after the US Federal Reserve pledged to keep interest rates near zero for at least two years.

The US news lead to a general rebound of exchanges around the world following very heavy losses early this week on fears the US and eurozone debt crises would spark a new recession.
