MILAN: Italian stocks jumped 1.83 percent to 15,926 points in opening trades on Tuesday, helped by a boost from the European Central Bank's decision to support the bond market with massive purchases.
The FTSE Mib index in Milan closed down 2.35 percent on Monday in line with losses on stock markets around the world due to nerves about global growth, which sparked further heavy losses overnight on Wall Street and in Asia.
