tokyo_stockTOKYO: Tokyo shares ended 1.68 percent lower on Tuesday after early losses narrowed ahead of a policy board meeting by the US Federal Reserve later in the global day.

The benchmark Nikkei-225 index of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, which lost more than four percent in early trade, closed down 153.08 points at 8,944.48.
