stock-market-thaiCOLOMBO: Thailand stock index opened 3.6 percent lower on Tuesday, extending the previous session's losses, tracking declines in other Southeast Asian stock markets. By 0300 GMT, Thailand's main stock index dropped 3.6 percent to 1,038.93, the lowest in nearly four-weeks.

Asian stocks fell 2-6 percen on Tuesday, after US on concerns over the global economic outlook after Standard & Poor's downgraded the US credit rating.Malaysia stocks were down 2.4 percent after plummeting 4.9 percent in early trade, while Indonesia shares dropped 5.1 percent, recovering from 6.7 percent fall soon after opening.
