KARACHI: The divisional and district administration Karachi has challaned 59 shopkeepers and fine of Rs. 1,04,500/- were imposed for overcharging and violating officially approved price lists.
According to a press release issued here on Friday, during crackdown, the administration fined 25 milk sellers, 18 grocers, four fruits sellers, eleven chicken sellers and a vegetables seller.
The action against profiteers were taken in the areas including Saddar, Aram Bagh, Civil Line, Garden, Baldia, Jamshed Quarters, Gulzar Hijri, Liaquat Abad, Gulberg, Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, Orangi, Model Colony, Landhi, Murad Memon Goth, Shah Faisal, New Karachi and other areas.
Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has said that the operation against profiteers will continue till the sale of essential items is not ensured according to officially approved price list
